  • Here is an adorable photo of a pug in a beret. If it got you to stop and read this, help us out! 🤣 We're hard at work on two new themes, hopefully launching in late May or early June! We'd love feedback from you guys—what are some features you're looking for in your next theme? Anything that would make your blog life easier? We've been toying with the idea of integrating a "mini post" feature, so customers could write shorter form content that doesn't appear in a main blog feed. One of our new themes will also include a slider option. But what else do you want to see? Let us know in the comments! Our goal is to always be improving @empressthemes with input from our community, so we wanna hear from you!!! 😘 〰️ Photo of @toshi.dog by @charlesdeluvio
  • Should you work with a brand for free? For the most part, we think the time you put into sponsored content—not to mention access to your audience—is worth something. But there are a few instances where it might make sense to feature a brand gratis. Check out our blog post on this topic with the link in our profile!

  • We'll often receive questions or support requests about a site acting weird. 99% of the time, issues with site outages or loading errors have nothing to do with the theme you're running. Often, you can trace it back to the hosting plan you're on. If your traffic has increased, if your storage limits are maxed out, and if you're generally using up more resources than your current plan allows, you'll start to see site performance issues. We always think investing in a Managed WordPress hosting plan is the best option for bloggers, since this can provide you with better performance and security. Virtually all major host providers now offer a plan specifically for WP users (for example, if you're on GoDaddy, ask about their Managed WP plans and see if you can switch!). The two hosting providers we often recommend are Flywheel and SiteGround...we always have a great experience with both!
  • Did you catch the latest post in our SEO series, over on our blog? It's an interview with SEO and digital marketing expert @kimherrington_, and is not to be missed!
